One Passport Office in Lahore and Karachi to Remain Open 24/7
The federal government has decided to keep at least one passport office open 24/7 in both Lahore and Karachi, announced Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday.
This move aims to accommodate diverse schedules and minimize time constraints, making it easier for everyone to access passport services anytime.
The 24/7 passport offices will significantly alleviate the burden on existing passport offices, reduce waiting times for applicants, and cater to the needs of a larger number of individuals, including those who may find it difficult to visit during standard working hours due to personal or professional commitments.

While the specific locations and operational details are yet to be announced, this measure is expected to address the challenges faced by applicants who struggle to visit passport offices during regular working hours.
Citizens will now have the opportunity to submit their applications, complete necessary procedures, and resolve any passport-related matters at their convenience.
This move comes after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to the Lahore Passport Office last month, where he witnessed a troubling situation, including long queues, bribery, and the dominance of mafia agents.
He suspended passport officials and ordered legal action against them, directing the replacement of the deputy director and assistant director.
