Taylor Swift announces new album on Podcast
Global pop star Taylor Swift has unveiled the title of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, during an appearance on the popular “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted by her partner and NFL star Travis Kelce alongside his brother Jason, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
Swift, who had teased fans with cryptic Instagram posts earlier this week, appeared in a short video released just after midnight in New York, pulling a vinyl record from a briefcase. “So I wanted to show you something,” she says in the clip. “This is my brand new album.”
No official release date has been announced. The full podcast episode was due to air on Wednesday.
The appearance marks one of Swift’s rare guest spots on New Heights, which has surged in popularity, ranking as the 10th most-listened-to US podcast in the second quarter of 2025, according to Edison Research.

The announcement comes more than a year after Swift’s 11th album topped global charts, boosting sales for Republic Records, a key label under Universal Music Group (UMG). Facing a merchandise sales slowdown and weaker-than-expected earnings, UMG is relying on top acts like Swift to drive growth.
In May, Swift concluded a long-running dispute with her former label, Big Machine Label Group, regaining rights to her first six albums. Her re-recorded versions have since drawn strong fan support, reinforcing her standing as one of the most influential figures in the music industry.
