The Punjab Home Department has addressed a letter to the Pakistan Ministry of Interior, advocating for the suspension of services to ensure peaceful and transparent elections.

This recommendation has been copied to key authorities such as the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The department believes that the suspension of mobile and internet services in Punjab will be instrumental in preventing the dissemination of misinformation and rumors, which have the potential to disrupt the electoral process.

Furthermore, the Election Commission spokesperson has announced a ban on media coverage of the delivery of polling material.

This decision follows previous incidents during the general election where the windows of the RO office were broken.

Media coverage has been identified as a factor contributing to disruptions in the delivery process.

However, the Election Commission has assured the public of its commitment to transparency by stating that footage of the delivery process will be released, ensuring accountability and clarity.
