KP, Islamabad Reduce Roti Price

Following the footsteps of Punjab, both the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and the district administration of Islamabad have reduced the price of roti.

As announced by KP’s Food Minister Zahir Shah, the cost of a 100-gram roti has been set at Rs. 15, while a 120-gram roti will now be priced at Rs. 30.

The minister reiterated the provincial government’s dedication to undertaking measures for the welfare of the populace.

Similarly, the Islamabad district administration has decreed a reduction in the prices of roti and naan within the federal capital.

As per the notification issued, the revised rates for roti and naan are now fixed at Rs. 16 and Rs. 20, respectively.

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, had announced a decrease in roti prices across the province.

According to the CM, a 100-gram roti will now cost Rs. 16, while a 120-gram roti is priced at Rs. 20.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, the police apprehended Shafiq Qureshi, the Central President of the Pakistan Naanbai Association, for defying a notification issued by the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner to reduce roti prices.

The Naanbai Association reported that police raids were conducted at the residences of other officials as well.

Additionally, they declared their intention to challenge Qureshi’s arrest in the Lahore High Court.
