Afghan man, three facilitators arrested in fake identity case

FIA exposes citizenship fraud network in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone has foiled an attempt to illegally obtain Pakistani citizenship through forged documents and arrested four suspects, including an Afghan national.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the Anti-Corruption Circle Peshawar conducted the operation and apprehended the suspects from the NADRA Regional Office, Peshawar. The arrested individuals were identified as Sadiqullah, Samiullah, Fayyaz Khan, and Younas Khan.

The Afghan national, Sadiqullah, was allegedly trying to acquire Pakistani citizenship using fake documents. During the process, Younas Khan impersonated as Sadiqullah’s father to support the fraudulent application.

Meanwhile, Fayyaz Khan and Samiullah acted as witnesses and provided false verifications to facilitate the illegal citizenship process.

The FIA has initiated further investigation after taking the suspects into custody.
