The solarization project will be implemented in three phases, starting with the conversion of tube wells and water pumps, followed by street lights, and finally CDA buildings.

The project aims to generate 4.5 megawatts of electricity, operating waterworks and tube wells for 25 years, and covering the installation cost of Rs. 80 million within four years.

A comprehensive feasibility study will be conducted to ensure the project’s success, evaluating site characteristics, system design, technical and financial assessments, and regulatory compliance.

The study will be carried out in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules of 2004.

This initiative is expected to save the agency Rs. 250 million monthly, setting a precedent for sustainable practices in the capital city.

With its emphasis on renewable energy, the CDA is taking a significant step towards a greener future.
