CDA reviews progress on development of new sectors in Islamabad

Chairman directs early handover of plots, completion of infrastructure and removal of encroachments

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the CDA Headquarters to review the progress of development work in new sectors of the Federal Capital.

The meeting was attended by Member Admin Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafiz, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and other senior officers. A detailed review was conducted of ongoing development activities in Sectors C-14, I-12 and E-12.

Officials briefed the chairman that basic infrastructure work in Sector C-14 has entered its final stages and that the process of handing over possession of plots will begin soon. Chairman Randhawa directed that signboards displaying plot and street numbers be installed for the convenience of plot owners and that complete plot information be made available on the e-map.

Regarding Sector I-12, the meeting was informed that development of almost all residential and commercial plots has reached the final stages. The chairman instructed that all basic infrastructure facilities, including e-maps, signboards and street lights, be ensured in the sector.

The meeting also reviewed progress in Sector E-12. Officials said that infrastructure work in Sub-sectors 1 and 2 has entered final stages, while development work in Sub-sector 3 is ongoing. It was further briefed that tenders for development work in Sub-sector 4 will be issued soon after removal of existing obstacles.

Chairman CDA directed that the process of handing over possession of developed plots in Sector E-12 be expedited and stressed the need for complete removal of illegal constructions and encroachments in the sector.

He further directed that possession of developed plots in new sectors should be accelerated alongside ensuring the provision of basic infrastructure and facilities. Providing quality residential facilities to citizens of the Federal Capital remains among CDA’s top priorities, he added.
