CDA Talent Hunt Ramdan Cup 2026 concludes with winners crowned in male and female categories
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s Talent Hunt Ramdan Cup 2026, aimed at promoting sports and cricket in the Federal Capital, successfully concluded with final matches and the closing ceremony held at the National Cricket Ground F-7 Islamabad.
In the male category, G-10 Junoon Cricket Club won the final, defeating F-8 JJ Cricket Team, who finished as runners-up. In the women’s event, F-6 Mavericks claimed the title by 6 wickets over F-10 United Cricket Team.
Outstanding individual performers included Muneeb Maqbool, named Player of the Tournament in the male category, and Fajar Naveed, who earned the same honor in the female category. Awards for Best Bowler, Best Batsman, and Best Wicketkeeper were also distributed: Osama Afridi, Zeeshan Farid, and Fahad Saleem won in the male category, while Noor-ul-Ain, Maham Anis, and Mahwish claimed the respective awards in the women’s competition.
A total of 10 men’s teams participated, including the top eight clubs from Islamabad, with two additional teams — Chairman CDA XI and Minister XI — selected via open trials nationwide. Six women’s teams were formed from talent trials across Pakistan.

Cash prizes exceeding 2 million rupees were awarded . The Ramdan Cup winning women’s team received 6 lakh rupees, doubled from an initial 3 lakh on the direction of Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Runners-up received 3 lakh rupees. The men’s champions earned 3 lakh, and runners-up 1.5 lakh rupees.
Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, highlighted plans to develop eight more sports grounds for women in Islamabad, modeled after F-7, and pledged to improve sports facilities across the capital. He also commended the CDA’s Sports and Culture Directorate, field staff, and umpires for their contributions to the tournament’s success.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir praised the CDA for organizing the first-ever women’s cricket tournament in Islamabad, calling it a unique and healthy initiative. He emphasized the importance of net practice arrangements for girls and credited the success of the event to Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Chairman CDA affirmed that the CDA will continue to actively organize such events in the future, with a focus on providing healthy recreational activities for citizens of the Federal Capital.
