Chief Commissioner reviews security, law and order arrangements in Islamabad

Meeting discusses Safe City expansion, M-Tag implementation and enhanced surveillance

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday chaired an important meeting at the CDA headquarters to review security and law and order arrangements in the federal capital.

The meeting was attended by Inspector General Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA Member Administration Talat Mahmood and senior officers from the CDA, district administration and Islamabad Police.

A comprehensive briefing was given on the extension of the Islamabad Safe City project, including a detailed review of timelines, design and the installation of modern equipment. The meeting also discussed the implementation of the M-Tag system in the federal capital.

IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said a zero-tolerance policy was being adopted to improve the law and order situation and to take action against criminal elements. He said police patrolling, snap checking and monitoring through CCTV cameras were being ensured to further strengthen security. He added that the use of modern technology had significantly reduced emergency response time.

Chairman CDA directed that additional CCTV cameras be installed on entry and exit points of Islamabad and that city-wide patrolling be further intensified.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad instructed all relevant agencies to ensure coordinated communication to improve security and law and order. He stressed the effective use of modern technology to further enhance public safety in the federal capital.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, all available resources would be utilised to make Islamabad a crime-free city. He added that ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for residents of the federal capital remained a top priority.
