Election tribunal dismisses PTI’s challenge to Nawaz Sharif’s victory from NA-130
Lahore: An election tribunal on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by PTI senior leader Yasmin Rashid challenging PML-N President Nawaz Sharif’s victory from Lahore’s NA-130 constituency in the 2024 general elections.
The incarcerated PTI leader had filed the petition in April last year through her counsel Ahmed Awais and Rana Mudassar, contesting the Election Commission of Pakistan’s notification declaring Nawaz Sharif as the returned candidate.
In her petition, Rashid argued that the ECP issued the victory notification in violation of the law and alleged that the election results were manipulated in favour of the PML-N chief.
After hearing arguments from both sides, election tribunal judge Justice (retd) Rana Zahid Mahmood declared the notification of Nawaz Sharif’s victory from NA-130 as valid, effectively rejecting the challenge.

Nawaz Sharif won the NA-130 seat by securing 171,024 votes, while Yasmin Rashid, who contested the election as an independent candidate, obtained 115,043 votes.
The PTI has maintained that its mandate was stolen in the February 8, 2024, general elections, alleging that results were altered in Form 47, which reflects the provisional consolidated results of a constituency compiled by the returning officer.
The party has also claimed victory on 180 National Assembly seats, citing data from Form 45, also known as the presiding officer’s result of the count, which records votes cast and polled by each candidate at individual polling stations.
