Envoy-Designate to Australia Meets Dar Before Departure
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Australia, Irfan Shaukat, paid a farewell courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday before departing for Canberra to assume his new responsibilities.
Mr Dar lauded Mr Shaukat’s professional service as his chief of staff for the past year and a half, during what he described as “key diplomatic and critical moments.”

Extending best wishes for his tenure, the foreign minister urged the envoy to focus on expanding trade, economic and educational cooperation between the two countries, while actively engaging with the Pakistani community in Australia.
Expressing confidence in his appointment, Mr Dar said he was certain the high commissioner-designate would continue to serve Pakistan with distinction in his new role.
