PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone has intensified its crackdown against Afghan nationals involved in illegally obtaining Pakistani identity documents. In a recent operation, the FIA Anti-Human Smuggling Circle Peshawar arrested five Afghan citizens residing unlawfully in the country.
According to FIA, the operation was conducted at a private hotel located in Peshawar’s Dabgari area, where five individuals—identified as Ali Khan, Ajmal, Qasim, Ahmed and Hamzullah—were taken into custody. All the arrested suspects are Afghan nationals who had been living in Pakistan without legal documentation.
During the raid, Afghan identification papers as well as Pakistani identity cards were recovered from the suspects. Initial investigation revealed that the individuals had entered Pakistan through illegal routes. The suspects intended to fraudulently obtain Pakistani passports and identity cards.
