Field Marshal meets US leadership, attends CENTCOM change of command
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is undertaking an official visit to the United States, where he has held high-level interactions with senior political and military leaders as well as members of the Pakistani diaspora, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
In Tampa, the army chief attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander General Michael E. Kurilla, and the change of command ceremony marking the assumption of command by Admiral Brad Cooper.
The COAS lauded Gen Kurilla’s leadership and his role in strengthening bilateral military cooperation, and extended best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence in continued collaboration to address shared security challenges.

During the visit, Gen Munir met Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine to discuss matters of mutual professional interest, and invited him to visit Pakistan. He also held interactions with chiefs of defence from friendly countries on the sidelines of the events.
In an address to members of the Pakistani diaspora, the COAS urged them to remain confident in the country’s future and contribute towards attracting investments. Members of the diaspora reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Pakistan’s progress and development.
