Four Policemen Injured in Roadside Bomb Blast in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: At least four police personnel were injured on Thursday when a roadside bomb struck a police van on Kohat Road in the Kamar Din Garhi area of the provincial capital.
According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed, the police vehicle was on routine patrol near Qamar Din Chowk when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated without warning.
The blast damaged the van and left four officers wounded. They were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition was reported to be out of danger.
Police units arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion and cordoned off the area. A search operation was launched to trace the perpetrators behind the attack.

This incident comes amid a resurgence in militant violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In August, two people were killed and at least 10 others — including two police officers — were injured in a bomb blast in the Wana Rustam Bazaar area of Lower South Waziristan’s Wana tehsil.
District Police Officer Tahir Khan had confirmed that the victims in that attack included two passersby, while several others were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical care. Security forces had similarly launched a search operation in the aftermath.
Authorities say investigations into Thursday’s Peshawar blast are under way.
