In the wake of heatwaves, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has urged the public to take necessary precautionary measures to safeguard against potential heat-related illnesses.

With temperatures expected to surpass the average recorded over the last 30 years, heightened vigilance is crucial.

According to the PDMA’s statement, there is a significant likelihood of heatwaves affecting the plains of Punjab, with major cities expected to bear the brunt of the intensity.

This underscores the importance of proactive measures to mitigate the adverse effects of extreme heat.

Additionally, the PDMA has cautioned about the possibility of strong winds, dust storms, torrential rain, and hail affecting the province.

These weather fluctuations could potentially lead to flooding in rivers, exacerbating the challenges faced by local communities.

PDMA Punjab Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia has directed the local administration to remain vigilant in monitoring seasonal fluctuations.

He emphasized the importance of rescue organizations and district administration being prepared to respond effectively to any emergent situations.

Furthermore, raising awareness among citizens about weather changes and precautionary measures is deemed essential in ensuring public safety.

As Punjab braces for potential heatwaves and weather fluctuations, proactive measures and heightened vigilance are imperative to safeguard communities and minimize the impact of adverse weather conditions.
