India would soon “lick its wounds” on the western border just as it is doing on the eastern, said Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif the other day.

Speaking to the media in Sialkot , Asif declared that the country had delivered a “historic defeat” to its enemy—India—on land, air, and sea.

He accused Delhi of continuing proxy warfare along the western border through banned groups like the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

He credited Pakistan’s armed forces for their decisive role in the May 10 operation, which he called a “turning point” in the nation’s history.

Asif congratulated the chiefs of Pakistan’s armed forces and soldiers for their success, stating, “With Allah’s grace, the victory we achieved on the eastern border will be surpassed by our success on the western front.”

He emphasized that the government stands firmly with the military in defending the country.

The minister claimed that India had deployed advanced warships, which Pakistan’s forces “sliced apart like kites.” He added, “Modi is now licking his wounds.”

Asif noted that previous divisions within the nation had transformed into unity.

He also expressed gratitude to female students who visited his residence in a show of solidarity, calling it an “emotional moment” and praising their “unique love for the homeland.” Students later cut a “Day of Thanks” cake with the minister.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, Asif warned, “Nations that forget their history are forgotten by history.”

He also commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his leadership during the crisis.

The remarks came amid heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, though no independent verification of the alleged military successes was provided.
