KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) announced on Sunday that matric examinations have been postponed from April 7 to April 10.

The delay follows demands from an alliance of private schools, which cited incomplete preparations and the non-issuance of admit cards as the main reasons for requesting a reschedule. The alliance claimed that examination centres for matric students had not yet been finalised, admit cards were not issued on time, and examination materials had not been dispatched, raising concerns about students’ readiness.

However, a spokesperson for BSEK stated that all arrangements for the exams have been completed. Admit cards have been uploaded on the board’s official website, and private candidates had received their cards at their residential addresses.

The board’s announcement ensures that students will have additional time to prepare and complete any pending formalities ahead of the revised start date.
