Pakistan, China conclude SEA GUARDIAN IV naval exercise

ISLAMABAD: The fourth edition of the bilateral naval exercise SEA GUARDIAN IV between the Pakistan Navy and the People’s Liberation Army Navy concluded on April 1 after a week-long series of activities aimed at enhancing interoperability and maritime cooperation.

The SEA GUARDIAN IV exercise, held from March 25 to April 1, comprised a five-day port phase in Karachi followed by a two-day sea phase in the North Arabian Sea.

During the port phase, PLA Navy ship DAQING was welcomed by PNS TAIMUR. Activities included exchange visits, briefings at naval installations, and professional discussions on maritime security challenges, along with a maiden Young Officers Seminar.

The sea phase featured a range of advanced naval drills, including air defence exercises against multi-domain swarm threats, coordinated operations with a Pakistan Navy submarine, conventional war-at-sea manoeuvres, and live gunnery firing.

These exercises were aimed at strengthening tactical coordination and operational readiness between the two navies.

The exercise concluded with a coordinated patrol in the Arabian Sea, reaffirming the commitment of both countries to regional maritime security and stability.
