Pakistan Navy Clinch 4th CNS All Pakistan Hockey Tournament Title
LAHORE: Pakistan Navy won the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Hockey Tournament 2025 after defeating Mari Energies 6–5 in a thrilling final at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
Mari Energies and Pakistan Air Force secured second and third positions, respectively.
A grand closing ceremony was held following the match, with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf attending as the chief guest. He congratulated the winning side and praised the efforts of the tournament organisers — including Commander Central Punjab, Punjab Sports Board, Pakistan Hockey Federation, sponsors and media partners — for successfully staging the event.
Admiral Ashraf expressed hope that such tournaments would help revive public enthusiasm for hockey, Pakistan’s national sport, and urged both public and private institutions to play their part in its resurgence.
Awards were presented to outstanding performers, with Pakistan Navy’s Zakria Hayat declared Best Player of the Tournament. Mari Energies’ Ahmed Nadeem was named Best Scorer, while teammate Abdullah Ishtiaq received the Best Goalkeeper award.

The ten-day tournament, held from September 25 to October 4, featured eight teams from across the country, including Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Rangers, Police, Port Qasim Authority, National Bank of Pakistan and Mari Energies.
A large number of dignitaries, former Olympians, students and hockey fans attended the matches, underscoring the enduring passion for the sport despite years of decline.
