Pakistan reaffirms commitment to KSA security
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met KSA Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Fayyadh bin Hameed Al Rowaili at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday.
During the meeting, the prime minister conveyed his good wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthening the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia across all sectors, including economy, defence and security.
He welcomed General Al Rowaili and appreciated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support and solidarity with Pakistan at all times, stressing that bilateral relations are based on shared faith, common values and mutual trust.
The prime minister also referred to his highly successful visits to Riyadh over the past two months, during which a historic Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement was signed. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further enhance defence cooperation through joint training, military exercises and exchange of expertise.
He highlighted the joint commitment of both countries to counter terrorism and extremism in all forms and to promote peace and stability in the region.
General Al Rowaili conveyed goodwill messages from the Saudi leadership to the prime minister and the people of Pakistan. He reaffirmed the kingdom’s strong desire to elevate the existing defence and strategic partnership with Pakistan to new heights.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials from both sides.
