Pakistan Thanks Azerbaijan for Support During India Tensions
Islamabad, – Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev for his country’s “steadfast support” during Pakistan’s recent military tensions with India, during a phone call between the two leaders on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Shehbaz described Azerbaijan’s backing as “yet another demonstration of [President Aliyev’s] great love and affection for the people of Pakistan.”
The premier specifically thanked Azerbaijan for standing with Islamabad during the “recent crisis in South Asia.”
In response, President Aliyev congratulated Pakistan on its “remarkable success” and welcomed the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India. He also lauded Islamabad’s peace efforts in the region.
The Azerbaijani leader reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening “brotherly ties” with Pakistan across all sectors.
PM Shehbaz, in turn, expressed appreciation for the “overwhelming expression of solidarity” from the people of Azerbaijan.
The conversation highlights Azerbaijan’s diplomatic support for Pakistan amid regional tensions, reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The call also comes as Pakistan seeks to stabilize relations with India following recent hostilities.
