Pakistani national killed in Abu Dhabi after missile debris falls in Baniyas
ABU DHABI: Another Pakistani national has been killed in the United Arab Emirates after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile struck the Baniyas area of Abu Dhabi, authorities confirmed.
The Abu Dhabi government said its air defence systems successfully intercepted the missile, but fragments fell in the area, resulting in the fatality.
Officials urged the public to rely only on verified information from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours.
With the latest incident, the total number of fatalities in recent attacks on the UAE has risen to seven. According to authorities, at least three of the victims are Pakistani nationals — one in Dubai and two in Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan’s Embassy in the UAE expressed deep grief over the incident, saying it was “profoundly saddened” by the loss. The embassy added that it is in close coordination with local authorities to provide full support to the bereaved family and ensure early repatriation of the body.
“We are profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi’s Baniyas area due to falling debris following the interception of a missile,” the embassy said, offering condolences and prayers for the family.

Authorities said the incident occurred after the interception of a ballistic missile, with UAE air defence systems responding swiftly to the threat.
Earlier this month, a Pakistani driver was killed in Dubai’s Al Barsha area after debris from an aerial interception struck his vehicle shortly after Iftar.
In another incident, a Pakistani national, Murid Zaman, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lost his life in Abu Dhabi’s Madinat Zayed area after being hit by missile fragments, diplomatic officials confirmed.
The escalation comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which reportedly killed senior leadership, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has since retaliated by targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military installations, intensifying fears of a wider regional conflict.
