PLA Navy ship arrives in Pakistan for SEA GUARDIAN exercise

Pakistan Navy hosts Chinese vessel DAQING as bilateral drills begin to enhance maritime cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy has extended a warm welcome to People’s Liberation Army (Navy) ship DAQING for its participation in the fourth iteration of the bilateral exercise SEA GUARDIAN, scheduled from March 25 to April 2, 2026.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PLA (Navy) ship was accorded a ceremonial reception upon arrival and escorted into port by Pakistan Navy vessels in a traditional manner.

The SEA GUARDIAN exercise aims to strengthen bilateral ties through the exchange of maritime expertise and improved interoperability between the two navies, reflecting their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.

The drills will include a range of harbour and sea-phase activities, such as subject matter expert engagements, a seminar for young officers on contemporary maritime issues, gunnery firings, coordinated patrols, and other maritime security operations.

The exercise series highlights the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and underscores their joint efforts to maintain a secure and stable maritime environment in the region.
