PM Shehbaz congratulates Mojtaba Khamenei on becoming Iran’s Supreme Leader
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on assuming the responsibilities of Supreme Leader of Iran, while conveying Pakistan’s condolences following the martyrdom of Ali Khamenei.
In a message, the prime minister extended heartfelt condolences and prayers on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to the people of Iran and the wider Muslim Ummah.
Shehbaz Sharif said the people of Pakistan were deeply saddened by the martyrdom of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei and expressed solidarity with Iran during this difficult time.
The prime minister expressed confidence that Mojtaba Khamenei’s leadership would guide Iran towards peace, stability and prosperity in the years ahead.

He also highlighted the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Iran, noting that the two countries share deep-rooted relations based on common faith, history, culture and language.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, the premier said Islamabad would continue working closely with Tehran to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He also prayed for the success of Mojtaba Khamenei and for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Iran.
