PM Shehbaz, Turkish Interior Minister discuss enhanced cooperation in security and disaster management
ISLAMABAD: Ali Yerlikaya, Interior Minister of the Republic of Türkiye, currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
During the warm and cordial meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the Turkish Minister and his delegation, noting that the visit underscored the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Türkiye. The Prime Minister extended his warm greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas of security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, police training, disaster management, trade, and economic development.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s position on key international issues and lauded Ankara’s role in facilitating ongoing peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul.

Minister Yerlikaya conveyed greetings from President Erdoğan and thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s desire to deepen collaboration with Pakistan in law enforcement, intelligence-sharing, and disaster response mechanisms.
The Prime Minister was assisted during the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, Chairman NDMA, Interior Secretary, and Foreign Secretary.
