President confers military awards on armed forces personnel

Hundreds of officers, soldiers honoured for bravery and distinguished service

RAWALPINDI: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred a wide range of military awards on officers and personnel of the Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force in recognition of their bravery and meritorious services.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military awards include 11 Sitara-i-Basalat, 475 Tamgha-i-Basalat, 130 Imtiazi Asnad, 378 COAS Commendation Cards, 23 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), 100 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 136 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).

A number of officers and soldiers were honoured posthumously for their sacrifices in the line of duty, reflecting the armed forces’ commitment and resilience in safeguarding the country.

Among those awarded Sitara-i-Basalat were Major Kamil Hussain, Major Sibtain Haider (Shaheed), Major Hamzah Israr (Shaheed), Major Adnan Aslam (Shaheed), Captain Hasnain Akhtar (Shaheed), and several others, including senior naval officers.

Similarly, hundreds of personnel from various ranks were conferred Tamgha-i-Basalat and other honours for acts of gallantry and distinguished service across different operations and assignments.

Senior military leadership was also recognised, with multiple general officers, air marshals and naval officers receiving Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) for their outstanding contributions.

The awards highlight the professionalism, dedication and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces personnel in defending the country and maintaining national security.
