Punjab Government Unveils Eid-al-Fitr Holidays Plan
Punjab government has officially declared Eid-al-Fitr holidays across the province.
The announcement comes with specific details regarding the duration of the holidays based on the working schedule of government offices.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, offices operating six days a week will enjoy a four-day holiday, spanning from April 10 to April 13.
Meanwhile, offices functioning five days a week will receive a three-day holiday, from April 10 to April 12.
Prior to this, the federal government had also declared Eid-al-Fitr holidays, aligning with the Punjab government’s schedule.
Offices with a five-day workweek will observe three public holidays from April 10 to April 12, while those with a six-day workweek will enjoy four public holidays from April 10 to April 13.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced its closure from April 10th to April 12th, 2024 (Wednesday to Friday) in observance of the public holidays for Eid ul Fitr.
The Meteorological Office has forecasted that the first day of Eid ul Fitr is likely to fall on April 10th, based on predictions of the Shawwal moon sighting on April 9th.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has provided detailed information regarding the birth of the crescent moon on April 8th and its visibility on April 9th, indicating favorable conditions for moon sighting.
As the Eid-al-Fitr holidays approach, government offices and institutions prepare for closure, providing an opportunity for individuals to celebrate the joyous occasion with their families and loved ones.
