Sepoy Muhammad Irfan named “Master at Arms” at PARA Meet 2025

Rawalpindi: The closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet was held at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) in Jhelum, with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

The PARA Central Meet 2025, conducted from October 1 to November 10, saw the participation of over 2,000 shooters from the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces, and provincial rifle associations of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the Federal territories. The event showcased exceptional marksmanship, discipline, and competitive spirit among participants.

Pakistan Army clinched the 3rd Inter-Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025, winning all four inter-services matches. Punjab Regiment secured first place in the Unit Firing Proficiency Match (Group-I), while Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of Punjab Regiment was declared Master at Arms. Naib Subedar Umar Farooq of AMU won the Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.

Addressing the participants, the COAS commended their exceptional performance and underscored the importance of precision and skill in combat readiness, stating that “mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training.”

Later, the Army Chief attended the Centenary Celebrations of Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as the chief guest. He inaugurated the Centenary Monument and College Museum, paying tribute to the institution’s 100 years of excellence in producing patriotic and disciplined leadership for the nation. The COAS also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honour the martyrs.

Upon arrival, COAS was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps and Inspector General Training & Evaluation (IGT&E).
