Sindh Government Bans Photography in Girls’ Colleges
Karachi: The Sindh government on Tuesday issued a ban on photography in all government girls’ colleges, citing concerns over the misuse of images of students and female teachers.
According to a notification from the Sindh College Education Department, complaints had been received regarding photographs of female students and teachers being taken without permission and later shared on social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp.
The College Education Karachi Region director stated that taking or sharing photographs without consent would be considered a punishable offence. He emphasized that such actions violate applicable laws as well as religious and social values.

The notification strictly prohibits unauthorised photography in all women’s colleges. Any violation will not only trigger disciplinary action but may also lead to legal proceedings under relevant laws.
College principals have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the advisory. The department warned that in case of any violation, the responsible principals and staff would be held accountable and face disciplinary measures.
