Pink Bus Service Adds Two New Routes in Karachi

The First of These Routes, Designated as R10, will be Dedicated Exclusively to Women Passengers.

Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Memon, has announced the expansion of the Pink Bus Service with the introduction of two new routes.

Currently serving the R1 route from Model Colony Malir to Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal, the Pink Bus Service is set to broaden its reach by incorporating two additional routes, catering specifically to the transportation needs of women in the city.

During a recent meeting chaired by Minister Memon to oversee the launch preparations for new transport projects in Karachi and Mirpurkhas, it was decided that the inauguration of the new such Bus Service routes would take place on April 19.

The first of these routes, designated as R10, will be dedicated exclusively to women passengers.

It will commence its journey from Numaish Chowrangi, traversing key landmarks such as M.A Jinnah Road, Metropol, Do Talwar, Teen Talwar, and culminating at Sea View clock tower.

In addition to expanding the Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi, the meeting also marked the introduction of the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas, scheduled for launch on April 20, extending improved public transportation facilities to the residents of the city.

Minister Memon also unveiled plans to implement a cashless automated fare collection smart card service on April 25, providing commuters with a hassle-free and efficient payment method.

These initiatives build upon the Sindh government’s commitment to enhancing public transportation services across the province.

The Pink People’s Bus Service, which made its debut on February 1, stands as Pakistan’s first-ever bus service exclusively tailored for women, reflecting a progressive approach towards promoting gender inclusivity and accessibility in transportation.
