Arshad Nadeem Resumes Javelin Training in England
Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem has resumed javelin training in England as he prepares for the upcoming World Athletics Championships, scheduled to begin on September 13 in Tokyo, Japan.
After missing the World Athletics Silver Tour and the Diamond League due to injury, Nadeem is now gradually returning to full form following rehabilitation for a calf muscle issue.
The national athlete had undergone minor surgery in Cambridge and has since progressed from light exercises to full throwing sessions.
Speaking on the occasion, the javelin thrower said he was feeling much better and hopeful about his performance in the global event.
“I am preparing for the World Athletics Championships. My rehab has gone well, I’ve started throwing again, and I hope to deliver my best,” he said. “Please pray for me.”
Nadeem, who clinched Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Games, also won silver in the previous edition of the World Athletics Championships.
He is now eyeing another podium finish, despite his recent injury.
