DUBAI: A meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi, took an unexpected turn when Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice-President Rajeev Shukla reportedly requested the return of a trophy from the Pakistan side, sources said on Tuesday.

According to insiders, Rajeev Shukla repeatedly pressed Mohsin Naqvi to hand over the trophy—believed to be related to a previous ACC event—despite the matter not being on the official agenda of the meeting.

“This item is not listed on the ACC meeting agenda,” Mohsin Naqvi is quoted as responding firmly.

However, sources claim that Shukla continued to insist on the issue, prompting a sharper reply from Naqvi, who reportedly said:

“If the Indian team wants the trophy, its captain can visit the ACC office and collect it from me personally.”

The meeting concluded without any formal decision on the transfer of the trophy.
