New Zealand Unveils Retro-Style Kit for T20I World Cup
New Zealand has unveiled a new kit for the upcoming T20I World Cup, which takes place in the USA and Caribbean in June.
The kit features a striking aquamarine jersey with a black collar and border, paying homage to the team’s 1999 ODI World Cup kit.
The iconic silver fern is prominently displayed on the jersey, giving a throwback to the 1999 World Cup.
The kit has a striking resemblance to the 1999 ODI World Cup kit, which was held in England 25 years ago.

Despite being known as ‘The Black Caps’, New Zealand introduced the black color in their kit in 1999 for the very first time, before which they wore grey and white colors in the ODI format.

However, the fans on social media have not responded positively to the new color of the kit, feeling that it does not represent the essence of the team.
This departure from traditional colors marks a significant shift in New Zealand’s approach to representing their nation on the global stage.
Despite this, the unveiling of the kit has injected a new wave of excitement and anticipation into cricket fans around the globe.
New Zealand will face Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and West Indies in Group C, kickstarting their campaign against Afghanistan on June 8 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
The kit is available for purchase at the NZC store from April 30, and fans are encouraged to show their support for the team by wearing the new colors.
