Peshawar Zalmi signs Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam for PSL 11
PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday announced the direct signing of Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam for the eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), scheduled from March 26 to May 3.
The franchise shared the news on its official social media channels with an animated poster showing Islam in Zalmi’s yellow jersey seated on an ornate throne alongside Bengal Tigers. “The Yellow Storm just got stronger with your arrival! [Bangladesh] express left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam is ready to unleash the Pakistan Super League in yellow,” the post read.
Islam has represented Bangladesh across formats since his international debut in 2021, featuring in 14 Tests, 40 ODIs, and 59 T20Is. He also has extensive T20 experience, playing 156 matches and taking 195 wickets at an average of 22.27 and an economy rate of 8.22.
One of the top performers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Islam has claimed 87 wickets in 60 innings, ranking among the tournament’s top 10 wicket-takers with an impressive bowling average of 20.35. His upcoming stint with Zalmi will mark his first appearance in the PSL.
Earlier on Tuesday, Peshawar Zalmi also signed emerging left-arm seamer Muhammad Basit, further strengthening the 2017 champions’ squad ahead of PSL 11, which will feature eight teams and matches across six venues in Pakistan for the first time.

Zalmi are set to begin their PSL 11 campaign on March 28 against Pindi at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
