CDA, SUPARCO agree on satellite, drone-based cooperation

Partnership aims to improve urban planning, land management and technical education in Islamabad

Islamabad: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Chairman SUPARCO, Muhammad Yousaf Khan, on Tuesday at the CDA Headquarters.

The meeting was also attended by CDA’s Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, and senior officers from both organizations.

During the discussion, the two sides explored key areas of cooperation, including the use of advanced satellite imagery, drone technology and collaboration in the education sector.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that SUPARCO’s satellite imaging will help resolve land disputes in different sectors and support the prompt removal of illegal constructions and encroachments. He added that satellite technology will also strengthen urban planning in both sectoral and non-sectoral areas of Islamabad.

He noted that the collaboration would open new avenues for the city’s development and modernization.

SUPARCO assured full technical support for the establishment of a modern laboratory for CDA. Both sides also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance educational cooperation between the CDA School and SUPARCO.

Chairman SUPARCO Muhammad Yousaf Khan reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to support CDA by aligning ongoing development projects with modern technology. He also appreciated CDA’s performance in the fast-track completion of development initiatives in the capital.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed his commitment to fully utilize SUPARCO’s technical expertise and advanced capabilities for Islamabad’s sustainable development.
