Internet outages and disrupted access plagued various parts of Pakistan since early morning, affecting customers of major internet service providers (ISPs).

Although ISPs have made progress in restoring internet services, the exact cause of the outage remains unclear.

According to sources from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), one possible reason for the disruption could be damage to submarine cables, although this has not been confirmed.

Telecom companies, when contacted for comment, suggested that the issue might be internal.

Despite partial restoration of services, browsing remains slow, and the internet has yet to be fully restored.

PTCL has assured customers that there are no issues at their end and that their internet services are operating normally.

In contrast, a PTA spokesperson dismissed reports of internet outages and denied any issues at the regulator’s end.

Earlier, the Nayatel helpline reported nationwide internet failure and degradation.

It’s important to note that the responsibility for restoring the internet lies solely with the PTA and telecom operators.
