In a groundbreaking move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated Pakistan first virtual women police station, “Meri Awaz…Maryam Nawaz,” at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Monday.
A Safe and Confidential Platform
The Virtual Women Police Station is designed to provide a safe and confidential platform for women to report crimes and seek assistance.
Women can reach out to the police through various platforms, including the 15 Call, Women Safety App’s live chat, video call, Punjab Police App, and Safe City web portal.
Guiding Women through the Justice Process
The Virtual Women Police Station will guide women through all aspects of dealing with crime, from filing an FIR to investigation and trial processes.
The station is committed to addressing women’s issues promptly, with a focus on resolving problems such as harassment as a top priority.
Live Video Call Feature and Panic Buttons
The station features a live video call feature, allowing women to visually communicate their problems and locations directly to the authorities.
Additionally, 100 modern emergency panic buttons have been installed across Lahore, allowing immediate connection to Safe City in case of emergencies.
Women Police Communication Officers and Complaint Mechanism
IT graduate women police communication officers have been deployed at the Pakistan Virtual Women Police Station to assist complainants.
A complaint mechanism has also been activated, enabling anonymous reporting of crimes, police misconduct, and grievances via the 1787 Helpline and Safe City Authority Web Portal.
