UAE President Assures $10 Billion Investment in Pakistan

In a significant development, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has assured Pakistan of UAE’s support in all circumstances and committed to investing $10 billion in various sectors of Pakistan.

This assurance came during a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss bilateral relations, including cooperation in political, economic, social, cultural, and defense sectors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of galvanizing existing cooperation and strengthening strategic partnerships in fields such as information technology, renewable energy, and tourism.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the steps taken by the government to ensure socio-economic stability and build investors’ confidence.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the meaningful implementation of investment cooperation agreements in areas such as energy, port operations projects, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, and banking and financial services.

Expressing gratitude to the UAE leadership for hosting 1.8 million Pakistani diaspora, the Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s huge human resource potential that could be engaged in multiple sectors.

The two leaders exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including regional and global developments.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.

The meeting concluded with the UAE President accepting the Prime Minister’s invitation for an official visit to Pakistan.
