Farmers in Punjab to Get Rs. 300B Interest-Free Loans

The farmers in Punjab will get Rs. 300 billion interest-free loans in one year under Kissan Khushal program.

Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah Kirmani unveiled the agricultural package details in a video on X, highlighting its comprehensive scope, valued at approximately Rs. 450-500 billion.

In the initial phase of the initiative, farmers will access Rs. 300 billion in interest-free loans, with Rs. 150 billion slated for distribution.

Small-scale farmers, owning less than 12.5 acres of land, will receive the Kisan Card, facilitating their access to financial support.

Under the program, farmers will receive interest-free loans amounting to Rs. 30,000 per acre of land, while an additional Rs. 100 billion will be allocated for subsidies and other supportive measures.

Kirmani emphasized the swift action of the Punjab government, having initiated 26 significant development projects within 21 days of assuming office.

Furthermore, small-scale farmers with holdings under 12.5 acres are entitled to benefit from the Nawaz Sharif Kissan Card initiative.
