Islamabad Airport begins installation of Pakistan’s first indoor 5G network

WEB DESK: The installation of Pakistan’s first comprehensive indoor 5G solution at an airport has officially begun at Islamabad International Airport, marking a significant step towards improving digital infrastructure and passenger services.

A project launch ceremony was held under the supervision of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), which said the initiative is designed to strengthen digital connectivity and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers using the airport.

According to the PAA, the project is being implemented with a Chinese investment of $5 million. Once completed, the indoor 5G network is expected to generate approximately Rs600,000 in monthly revenue for the authority.

The indoor 5G solution will provide high-speed, reliable internet connectivity throughout the airport terminal, enabling passengers to access faster digital services during their stay at Islamabad International Airport.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to modernise airport infrastructure and improve the quality of services through the adoption of advanced communication technologies.
