CDF Asim Munir, Lebanese army chief discuss regional security and defence cooperation
RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Rodolphe Haykal discussed the evolving regional security environment and defence cooperation during a meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, General Haykal was presented with a guard of honour by a tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.
During the meeting, both military leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, defence cooperation, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral military relations.
The discussions focused on enhancing professional interactions, expanding training cooperation, and deepening institutional linkages between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Munir reiterated the importance Pakistan attaches to its longstanding and friendly relations with Lebanon and reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to broadening defence collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces.

General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions towards regional peace, stability, and international peacekeeping missions.
The ISPR said the visit reflects the shared resolve of both countries’ armed forces to further strengthen military-to-military cooperation and deepen defence ties.
