PTI distances itself from Noorain Niazi’s remarks on Markah-e-Haq

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar on Tuesday clarified that remarks made by Noorain Niazi regarding Markah-e-Haq did not represent the party’s official position, describing them as her personal views.

Speaking to reporters, Barrister Gohar said the interview in question was recorded around three months ago, according to his information, adding that controversial statements should not be broadcast on mainstream media.

He said Pakistan’s victory in Markah-e-Haq was a blessing from Almighty Allah and a source of pride for the entire nation, adding that the achievement had been witnessed by the whole world.

“The enemy now knows that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Army,” he said.

Referring to the issue of meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar expressed concern over the continued denial of permission to party leaders.

He said meetings had repeatedly been refused on the grounds of security concerns and other reasons, adding that despite the passage of 280 days, party leaders had still not been allowed to meet Imran Khan.

Barrister Gohar announced that PTI would continue its boycott of meetings of the judicial commission and parliamentary standing committees until permission is granted for meetings with the party founder.
