WEB DESK: Marc Marquez revived his MotoGP championship challenge with a commanding victory at the German Grand Prix, significantly reshaping the title race midway through the season.

The factory Ducati rider completed a Sachsenring double after also winning the sprint race. Starting from pole position, Marquez controlled the race from the outset, while two of his main rivals, younger brother Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, crashed out.

The victory was Marquez’s 10th premier-class win at Sachsenring, equalling Giacomo Agostini’s record for the most victories at a single MotoGP circuit.

“It was a special weekend,” Marquez said after the race, adding that the victory was crucial to keeping his championship hopes alive.

Ai Ogura finished second after overtaking teammate Raul Fernandez in the closing stages to claim his third consecutive premier-class podium finish, while Fernandez completed the podium in third place.

The result significantly altered the championship standings after Marquez had trailed the leader by 102 points following the Italian Grand Prix.

A strong run of victories in Hungary, Czechia and Germany has brought the Spaniard back into title contention.

The championship battle also shifted after Marco Bezzecchi was forced to miss the German Grand Prix because of a collarbone injury sustained during qualifying.

Jorge Martin continues to lead the MotoGP standings, while Ogura moved up to second place and Marquez climbed to third.

With several title contenders suffering setbacks and Marquez rediscovering winning form, the German Grand Prix has reignited the battle for the MotoGP world championship.
