ISLAMABAD: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate has said the provincial cabinet is expected to be formed within the next two to three days as the newly elected government moves to complete its administrative setup.

Speaking during the programme Khabar Aur Tajzia, the chief minister said consultations on the cabinet were in the final stages and issues regarding the allocation of ministries among coalition partners, including the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), had already been resolved.

Amjad Hussain said all political parties were provided an equal environment until polling day, adding that the post-election period proved more challenging for his party.

He said he personally contacted independent members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly during the government formation process and secured their support.

“Not every member of the assembly can become a minister,” he said, indicating that only selected lawmakers would be inducted into the provincial cabinet.

The chief minister further claimed that members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also voted in his favour during the election for the office of chief minister.
